Both adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often have deficits in areas like language, communication, cognition, social skills, and self-help skills, like brushing teeth, holding a fork, and toilet training. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a leading treatment for autism, with decades of scientific research showing its ability to help children on the spectrum improve in these areas of developmental delay. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that cases of ASD have been on a steady increase since 2000. Back then, 1 in 150 children were reported to have autism, and by 2012, that number shot up to 1 in 68.
