Map Shows Prevalence of Natural Disaster Relief for Small Businesses

Ooma’s latest infographic highlights the states where natural disasters most impact small businesses, based on disaster relief loans available in 2024.

Louisiana ranks highest due to frequent hurricanes and floods, followed by Alabama with its high tornado count, and Hawaii, which faces tropical storms and wildfires. Other high-ranking states include Florida and Texas, both vulnerable to hurricanes.

The study shows that small businesses in these areas face unique challenges: property damage, customer and employee loss, and disrupted supply chains. This map emphasizes the importance of disaster planning and adequate relief funding to support small businesses in disaster-prone regions.
