The ten automobile manufacturers with the most safety recalls have issued a combined 3,987 recalls on their vehicles since 2010, according to data released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Among the companies issuing these safety recalls, Ford Motor Company comes in first place, with 545 recalls to its name in this time. Ford is followed closely by Forest River, known for their RVs and trailers, with 527 recalls and Chrysler with 514 recalls.
Though there are exceptions, it is generally understood that the higher the number of vehicles manufactured and sold by a company, the greater the number of recalls issued and the amount of vehicles that will be affected by these recalls.
