College majors have changed a wild amount in the last ten years. According to Student Choice’s 2026:
Nursing: 10.87% (2023) to 1.71% (2026)
Computer Science: a once rising star to dead last at 0.24%
Engineering: nearly doubled to 7.37%
Aviation: didn’t exist in the top 25 until 2025, now it’s at #4
Business: still #1, but survived a rough patch
The theme here is that students are pursuing where the real job opportunities are. Pilot shortages, healthcare demand, and engineering roles are booming. Students are backing away from fields that feel shaky.
