When it comes to a renewable energy source there is a wide variety to choose from, but higher costs can make some of the different types of energy unattainable for many. Although, according to this chart from SolarPower.Guide, renewable energy is affordable in some forms! They found the cost per megawatt-hour that twelve different types of energy cost, and ranked them from lowest to highest. Solar in the form of a standalone system was found to have the lowest costs at $32.78 per megawatt-hour. On the other end of the list is offshore wind with the highest costs at $120.52 per MWh.
