The U.S. States with the Highest Rate of Child Sugar Consumption

Monitoring the sugar intake of your children is extremely important, as it can lead to higher risks of obesity, tooth decay, heart disease, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver disease. The team at Main Street Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics has published this new infographic that looks at where in the U.S. that children consume the most sugary snacks on a weekly basis. Per their research, it was found that in Pennsylvania, children consume an average of 22.862 snacks per week, making it the highest rate in the country. Pennsylvania has a large lead on the other states as well, as Pennsylvania is the only state in the country where children consume in excess of 17.8 sugar snacks weekly.
