Which Countries Have the Highest Percentage of People Who Can Read and Write

Literacy rates vary greatly around the world. While the average literacy rate across the globe is 86.81%, there are countries around that have significantly higher and lower literacy rates. Which countries come out on top? U.S. Career Institute examined data on literacy rates in every country to create the following graphic. There are several countries that have a 100% literacy rate including Andorra, Finland, Greenland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and North Korea. There are also a number of countries that have a literacy rate over 99% including Latvia (99.89%), Belarus (99.87%), and Estonia (99.87%). Which country’s position on the list is most unexpected to you?
