The team at Ooma gathered and analyzed U.S. Energy Information Administration data to determine which states have the most and least power outages, as well as where the power is out the longest.
The team found that Louisiana residents are left in the dark the longest, at an average of 470 minutes per outage. Louisiana’s long hours without power are in part due to exposure to hurricanes and tropical storms that wipe out power for millions of people, and an aging infrastructure that struggles to respond to these strong storms.
