Americans should exercise caution regarding shark attacks when choosing swimming locations in the United States. SI Yachts has released an infographic analyzing data from the International Shark Attack File (ISAF) to identify the regions with the highest occurrence of shark attacks in the country. The data reveals a decrease in shark attacks overall in the United States in 2022, with a 13% reduction compared to the previous year, 2021. However, the United States still accounts for over half of all global shark attacks. SI Yachts’ findings indicate that Florida, Hawaii, California, North Carolina, and South Carolina are the states with the highest number of shark attacks on record within the United States.
