China has the highest electricity output in the world at 7,779,100 GWh annually, which is nearly double that of the United States, which comes in as being ranked second with 4,286,600 GWh of electricity output on an annual basis. Only three other countries around the globe are outputting more than 1,000,000 GWh of electricity annually, with those being India (1,560,900 GWh annually), Russia (1,085,400 GWh annually) and Japan (1,004,800 GWh annually).
