Ooma’s new study on cord-cutting statistics highlights that cable TV and traditional landlines are vanishing from American homes.
In a detailed infographic, we see 30 statistics demonstrating the decline of landline phones and cable TV. The graphic shows that almost 80% of adults now live in wireless-only households. Fewer than 1% of households only use landline phones. For television, 46% of Americans have cut the cable TV cord, and 12% have never used cable TV. Almost 75% of cord-cutters said the decision was based on cost. Streaming services are flexible and cost less. Many people plan to continue using streaming services like Netflix and Hulu as cable fees rise.
