AAA State of Play’s new map ranks the most playful U.S. cities based on recreational assets like parks, playgrounds, and splash pads.
Surprisingly, Las Vegas tops the list with numerous family-friendly spaces. New York City follows, known for its walkability, iconic parks, and museums. Other cities in the top 10 include Minneapolis, Washington, D.C., and Chicago—all rich in parks and public spaces.
By spotlighting “third places”—areas beyond home or work for community connection—this map highlights the role of play in urban well-being. Discover where your city ranks and see which places excel in bringing people together for fun and relaxation.
