Topping the list are Minecraft, GTA V, Tetris, Wii Sports, and Mario Kart 8. The study highlights Nintendo’s dominance, with over half the top-grossing titles published by them, including Zelda and Animal Crossing. The oldest game, Pac-Man (1980), and the newest, Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2020), showcase gaming’s evolution.
As digital sales grow, tracking profits becomes harder, but these legendary games prove that great gameplay and massive sales go hand in hand.
