Cheating on a partner is normally a taboo behavior, frowned upon by wider society, which is why the team’s results are so surprising. They based their data on a survey and found that 100% of respondents in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Alaska reported having either cheated or been cheated on. This number might seem high, but the numbers are above 50% in every single state.
This study raises many interesting questions about changing social norms in American relationships.
