With school starting again just around the corner, let’s take a look at how long students are spending getting a formal education these days. Thanks to this helpful infographic from a company called Playground Equipment titled, ‘How Many Days and Hours of School Time Each US State Requires by Grade’.

While the national average is six hours and thirty-eight minutes, Texas students spend more like seven hours a day in school and students in Washington spend closer to six. Most states require an average of 180 days of school per year but some states don’t have a required number at all while some are much lower. Colorado for example shows an average of only 160 days a year.
