There are teaching shortages in states across the U.S. Many people point to low teaching salaries as a big contributor to the lack of needed teachers. The team at Playground Equipment examined the data and created a map pointing out the highest and lowest average teaching salaries by city and color-coded the states by their average too. The highest paid teachers work in El Centro, California with an average of $110,420. The lowest paid teachers work in Enid, Oklahoma with an average of $45,900. In general, many of the highest paid teachers live in California cities, which might be adjusted for the state’s high cost of living.
