Stroke Risk Factors & Prevention

The not-for-profit organization The Live-in Care Hub has researched data about Stroke and how it impacts people’s lives.

High blood pressure is the leading cause of stroke, contributing to 54% of all strokes, but lifestyle changes can significantly reduce the risk of having a stroke. A healthy diet, taking regular exercise and giving up smoking can all contribute to a lower risk of stroke.

This infographic also looks at some of the misunderstandings around stroke, such as the mistaken belief that they only happen to older people. Statistics show that, in fact, 25% of strokes happen to people under the age of 65.
